BENJAMIN MENDY has shared a video of himself being wheeled into surgery... but is Stoke City striker Jese Rodriguez operating on his injured knee?
The Manchester City star, 23, cracked the joke after a dead-ringer for the Potters man prepared him to go under the knife
In the clip, Mendy - wearing a blue hospital gown and cap - films himself being wheeled towards surgery on his damaged ACL, which he injured against Crystal Palace last week.
The injury is set to rule the French star out for around seven months... but that didn't stop him seeing the funny side in his Rodriguez lookalike.
Mendy tweeted: "Going to surgery with @JeseRodriguez10 !! what a small world," accompanied by two laughing emojis.
On Wednesday, Mendy was spotted out and about wearing a protective cast on his injured leg and hobbling around on crutches.
Duncan Castles tweeted that Mendy could be set to miss the whole season, with a nine-month rehabilitation period.
He wrote: "Concern with Benjamin Mendy is that Man City's sole specialist left back has ruptured an ACL. If so possible 9 months rehab process."

But Mendy fired back, hilariously quipping: "Your bio says journalist so why you speak like graduated doctor ? no one has test to see if ruptured ACL or not, even I dont know lol"
Meanwhile, City boss Pep Guardiola has revealed he will not be rushed into the transfer market, despite losing his only out-and-out left-back.
On hunting for a quick replacement, the Spaniard claimed: "We will see in January.
"We thought next summer about looking for another left-back, another replacement, but we will see what we do.
"We have alternatives in our squad - Danilo, Fabian Delph, Fernandinho, can play there so we will see as we go along."
