Kylian Mbappe in Benjamin Mendy tribute as Paris Saint-Germain star dedicates his latest goal to injured Man City ace

Left-back unlikely to play again this season after undergoing surgery on his knee due to cruciate ligament damage

KYLIAN MBAPPE has dedicated his latest Paris Saint-Germain goal to close friend and injured Manchester City star Benjamin Mendy.

The young striker has been in superb form since swapping Monaco for the French capital over the summer.

And Mbappe was on target yet again as he scored in PSG’s 6-2 demolition of Ligue 1 rivals Bordeaux.

But the goal was clearly an emotional one as Mbappe raised two fingers from each hand in the air during his celebration, signalling Mendy’s No.22 jersey.

The left-back could be out for the rest of the season after suffering cruciate ligament damage in his knee.

Mendy has undergone surgery but it seems highly unlikely that he will play again before the 2017/18 campaign.

And the news seems to have affected Mbappe deeply, who played alongside Mendy in Monaco’s stunning French title win earlier this year.

The forward even posted a tweet confirming the goal was for his good pal, leading Mendy to respond with a number of heart emojis.

There was more to draw from PSG’s win today too, with Neymar and Edinson Cavani seemingly putting their differences aside.

The duo bagged three goals between them after a rocky fortnight at the Parc des Princes.

Neymar had reportedly demanded Cavani be sold after the Uruguayan refused to hand over his set-piece duties.

But the South American were all smiles as they got on the scoresheet yet again, with PSG looking utterly irresistible after also thrashing Bayern Munich 3-0 in the Champions League on Wednesday.

Former striker Ian Wright selects his top tips for Sunday's action.

"The boffins at Sun Bets tell me there has never been a Premier League game end 0-0 between these sides too so expect goals.

"I'm going to have to go with Jurgen Klopp’s men as on paper they are the much better side.

"12/1 on a 3-1 away win is very tempting."
