Manchester City troll Chelsea after man of the match Kevin de Bruyne scores only goal of the game
KEVIN DE BRUYNE scored the winner as Manchester City beat Chelsea - as the London club were reminded of what they once had.
Chelsea sold De Bruyne under the stewardship of Jose Mourinho back in January 2014 to Wolsburg, yet now he is arguably one of the best midfielders in the Premier League.
And Man City were quick to have a dig at Chelsea after the game, in their report on the club website.
On why De Bruyne was named the star man, it reads: "A superb winner and quality all over the pitch – why did Chelsea let him leave?"
Chelsea only got £18million for De Bruyne when they sold him, which in this day and age seems like an absolute steal.
And even Man City paying the German club £55m for the 26-year-old looks excellent business.
De Bruyne kept Manchester City level at the top of the Premier League with the crucial goal against his old team – and showed why they were wrong to sell him.
“Chelsea reject,” was the ironic chant from the City fans.
