The Welshman has as a key playmaker alongside Alexis Sanchez and behind main striker Alexandre Lacazette.

And Rambo’s Wales boss Chris Coleman, who uses the creative talent in a similar system, thinks he is finally winning over a critical Emirates crowd by simplifying his game.

Coleman said: “Aaron can affect every situation because he’s so good.

“Sometimes he can lose his position because he is trying too hard and wants to be everywhere.

“But when he’s more measured and thinking a bit more about his game, that’s when he’s at his best.

“It’s a positive mistake. It’s down to his enthusiasm.

“He’s not had an easy ride at Arsenal. He’s had a lot of criticism — sometimes it’s fair, sometimes it’s not.

And Cookie, who took the captain’s armband off Ramsey five years ago following the shock death of Wales boss Gary Speed, agrees.

Coleman added: “I thought he was too young then. We had lost Speeds and he was close to Gary.

“My words to him were that he was obviously going to be Wales captain again.

“So I am not surprised by Arsene’s  comments about him being a future skipper.”
