Tottenham eyeing summer swoop for Ryan Sessegnon… but Fulham could ask for £50million

TOTTENHAM will make a fresh bid for Fulham star Ryan Sessegnon — but the asking price could be an astronomic £50million.

Spurs have fancied Sessegnon since BEFORE he made his debut a year ago and nibbled at him again at the start of the season.

The 17-year-old left-back chose to sign a new deal at Craven Cottage and carry on playing at Championship level while the club protected themselves from losing him on the cheap.

But Spurs still want the kid, who is similar to their former star Gareth Bale, and plan to get him when the time is right, possibly in January but know it is going to cost them.

Fulham know all about the Bale comparison and will be looking for money off the scale for a teenager.

Talk of £50m valuations are already being whispered by those involved.

SunSport reported last month how Manchester United aren't prepared to give up hope on Ryan Sessegnon despite fears his preferred destination will be Tottenham.

But United's, as well as Tottenham and other Premier League club suitors' first hurdle will be to convince the Championship side to sell the teenage prodigy.

The Roehampton-born teen joined Fulham in 2008 on the Under-nine team with his twin brother Steven, who has also been tipped for a bright future.

In June Sessegnon signed a three-year deal at Craven Cottage snubbing Premier League interest for the opportunity to play regular first-team football.

But that hasn't stopped the prying eyes of Mourinho and Mauricio Pochettino who have both been long-term admirers of the versatile left-sided player.

The Londoner has created a lot of buzz since his senior debut for Fulham in the Championship, making 25 league appearances and scoring five goals despite playing as a left-back.

"The boffins at Sun Bets tell me there has never been a Premier League game end 0-0 between these sides too so expect goals.

"I'm going to have to go with Jurgen Klopp’s men as on paper they are the much better side.

"12/1 on a 3-1 away win is very tempting."
