Boss Conte admitted: “I see the commitment every day but to defend the title, to win two titles in a row, is very difficult.

“Our motivation has to be high in every competition, to do the best in every game. Sometimes you must accept it will not always go to plan.”

Conte won back-to-back titles in Italy with Juventus but insists the task was made easier in Serie A.

The Italian added: “That was a completely different situation.

“I was expecting a really strong challenge from AC Milan after Juventus won the title but they sold Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva to Paris Saint-Germain, so they became weaker.

“It wasn’t simple second time but it was easier.
