Manchester United supporters urge Jose Mourinho to give Valencia loanee Andreas Pereira a chance

MANCHESTER UNITED fans are begging Jose Mourinho to give Andreas Pereira a chance as he continues to impress at Valencia.

The Old Trafford chief blasted the Brazilian playmaker, 21, for choosing a loan move over fighting for his place.

But after Pereira played an important role in a 3-2 victory over Athletic Bilbao yesterday, supporters hope Mourinho will bury the hatchet.

Valencia's opener came after the whizkid tracked back to win the ball and start the move that ended with Simone Zaza finishing.

And as well as doing a job defensively, Pereira completed 92 per cent of his passes and went on several runs.

Valencia chief executive Mateu Alemani confirmed United have the option to bring their starlet back in January.

He said: "Of course Manchester United have an option to get the player back.

"They can sign the player on one condition but I am not going to say what kind of condition this is.

"It's confidential and it’s something that I am not going to reveal."

But Mourinho may not be ready to forgive Pereira after the Brazil youth international chose to head for La Liga.

At the time, the Special One said:  “It was a personal decision that I don't agree with, a decision I don't think honestly is the best decision for him, a decision that disappoints me.

“He has the potential to be fighting for a position, for opportunities and to be a Manchester United player.

“His decision can be considered as a young player who wants to play every weekend but also a young player that is not ready to fight for something difficult and it's difficult to play in Manchester United's midfield.

“You have to be ready to fight for the position and I am disappointed he left.

“But it was his decision, I opened the door for his decision.

“But he has a long-term contract, we have the option to bring him back on January 1, so is not a drama but is a decision which disappoints me a little bit.”
