Kop boss Jurgen Klopp admitted after Sunday’s 1-1 draw at Newcastle that his side would have a “real problem” against United if they continue to waste chances.

But keeper Mignolet insists the Reds should look forward to the visit of their big rivals after the international break as it is an opportunity to get back on track.

The Belgian, 29, said: “The Newcastle result was disappointing and frustrating.

“But we have to keep looking forward, keep our heads up and make sure when we come back after the international break we go again against Manchester United.

“It is a big game and something to turn things right for us.

“I’m sure everybody will be focused on their international duties now but when they are back they have a big game to look forward to. We will be ready for it.”

In Liverpool’s last seven matches, they have had 143 shots on goal but only actually hit the target with a quarter of those efforts.

And Mignolet added: “At one point these balls will fall for us and we might score a lot of goals.

“At this moment in time, it is how it is.

“It’s not that we’re not playing well.

“I think we’re still playing good football and creating chances.

“But we have to capitalise on them and be more efficient.”
