German has missed the last two games for Arsenal and rumours have intensified about his future
MESUT OZIL has stepped up his recovery from a knee injury amid speculation he will leave Arsenal in the summer.
The German international has missed the Gunners last two games after picking up a knock in the win over West Brom at the end of September.
But Ozil, 28, has put on a show of strength to fans as he posted a video of himself lifting weights at the London Colney training ground.
The caption said: "Another day at the recovery office."
Ozil has been linked with a move away from Arsenal when his contract runs out at the end of the season.
Manchester United have been the team most highly linked with the former Real Madrid star with Jose Mourinho reportedly confident of signing him.
And Gunners legend Martin Keown has accused Ozil have downing tools at Arsenal.
Former Gunners defender Keown claims Ozil is so keen to quit the Emirates Stadium he has already “mentally left the football club”.
Keown is convinced Ozil has already decided he is on his way – and in a damning assessment he says the playmaker doesn’t fancy putting in the effort any more.
Speaking to BBC Radio Five Live, Keown said: “I think he’s testing Wenger more than any other player has.
“I think it was Belarus the other week, he didn’t fancy going. He didn’t want to go.
“Suddenly he was injured again, he played nine minutes against West Bromwich Albion on the Monday, so how did he get injured there?
“I think in some departments he’s already left. Psychologically, mentally, he’s already left the football club.
“Maybe Wenger is now trying to do the best deal he can to get some compensation for him.”
