Adrien Silva’s father blasts Fifa after they block star’s Leicester registration by 14 seconds
ADRIEN SILVA’S father has lashed out at Fifa’s “stupid,” decision to ban his son from playing until January.
Silva’s dad Manuel launched a furious attack on the world’s governing body after they threw out Leicester’s appeal over the midfielder’s blocked registration.
And he accused accused them of being more concerned with profits than the welfare of the players.
Their decision means Silva will have to wait until the start of 2018 before his £25million move from Sporting Lisbon is registered, even though the club will be paying his wages from now.
Leicester insist they have clear evidence they submitted their paperwork BEFORE the summer transfer window closed even though it arrived at the FA 14 seconds AFTER the deadline.
But Fifa rejected the appeal despite the FA providing supporting documents which appear to suggest they were lodged before the window closed.
Silva’s dad hit out during an interview with Portuguese radio station Radio Renascenca.
He said: “I’ve already spoken to Adrien and he feels like someone who wants to play and is prevented from playing for 14 seconds.
“Fifa is a Swiss and a cold body. Fifa are more concerned with profits than with players. In this case they are not worried about the players’ situation.
“If it was for a delay of five minutes, we would even admit that we had been wrong.
"Now, for 14 seconds, when we know how computers work …. its impressive.

“But I also understand their position. If they accepted, there are many cases that have already happened and they would be criticised.
“I think it’s a completely strange thing. It’s really stupid.”
