Carvalho was subject of bitter war of words between Hammers and Sporting Lisbon in the summer but the Premier League could lose out altogther if La Liga giants step in
CRISTIANO RONALDO has thrown a spanner in the works for West Ham by telling Real Madrid to sign William Carvalho.
The Hammers got caught up in a war of words with the Sporting Lisbon top brass over the Portuguese international about his value and if an actual bid was made in the summer.
But now, Ronaldo has urged Los Blancos president Florentino Perez to step in and take the 25-year-old to the Bernabeu, according to Don Balon.
Carvalho is keen to play in one of Europe’s top leagues, with England his preferred destination.
The midfielder had agreed to join Manchester United under David Moyes, but the Scot was sacked before Carvalho was due to arrive in the summer.
Louis Van Gaal who repalced Moyes at Old Trafford decided against giving the deal the green light.

He has also attracted the interest of Arsenal and West Brom in recent transfer windows and any news of interest from the La Liga giants will spell danger for any other potential suitors.
