Bournemouth transfer news: Cherries to offload Benik Afobe in January with West Brom and Wolves keen

BOURNEMOUTH will sell Benik Afobe in one of the biggest auctions of the next transfer window.

The striker is struggling to get back into Eddie Howe’s side after a lengthy lay-off and the word is going around that he can leave.

The Cherries have spent heavily in the last couple of seasons and want to claw back some cash, with Afobe still holding his value at around £12million.

West Brom inquired about the 24-year-old in the summer and boss Tony Pulis is still keen at the right price.

There will also be interest from big hitters in the Championship, including Afobe’s former club, Wolves.

But the DR Congo international will want to stay in the top flight.

In 56 Premier League appearances, Afobe has found the back of the net on ten occasions.

In the 2015/16 season he scored four times in 15 matches after joining from Wolves.

And the following campaign he netted six times, but with the addition of Jermain Defoe, his place in the Bournemouth squad is up for debate.

Afobe scored 23 times in 48 outings for Wolves, establishing himself as one of the Championship's finest forwards.
