Harry Winks becomes trend-setter with old school black boots that are not released until November
Tottenham midfielder was wearing retro boots and snubbed the flashy colours most players wear during his man-of-the-match performance
HARRY WINKS has won a load more England fans after snubbing flashy boots for some old-school black ones.
The Tottenham star made his Three Lions debut in the 1-0 win against Lithuania and was awarded the man-of-the-match award.
And supporters were quick to praise the midfielder for his performance — and his choice of no-nonsense footwear.
Winks became the first player to wear the Adidas boots that are not released until late November.
Spurs team-mate Dele Alli congratulated Winks on his performance with a throw-back picture.
Alli reminded his pal of their days as fresh-faced teens by sharing a brilliant photo of themselves on international duty.
He captioned it: "Congrats on the debut @HarryWinks," followed by a crying with laughter face.
Southgate said: “We haven't scored the number of goals we would have liked to but we gave three full debuts and wanted to try something.
“A bit more quality in the final third is what was missing.
