Rodriguez signed for the Bundesliga giants on loan earlier this summer and has been in and out of the first team.

He scored his first and only goal so far this season in Bayern's 3-0 win over Schalke in the Bundesliga.

But since then, the club drew 2-2 with Wolfsburg and then lost 3-0 to Paris Saint-Germain.

Ancelotti was sacked following the 3-0 thumping in Paris against a red-hot strike force of Neymar, Kylian Mbappe and Edinson Cavani.

According to Diario Gol, the 26-year-old has so far not managed to settle in southern Germany and is unhappy at the sacking of the Italian who brought him in.

Treble-winning coach Jupp Heynckes has since been brought back into the fold.

The 72-year-old won the stunning triple with Bayern in 2013 before they hired Pep Guardiola.

But the club have lost star players Philipp Lahm and Xabi Alonso over the summer and there remains a feeling of instability of the club.

Also, the likes of Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery are clearly past their best and in their mid-30s, after serving the club so well for so long.

Colombia manager Jose Peckerman said he had chatted with Rodriguez to give him some reassurance during the international break.

The coach said: "I'm not surprised by Ancelotti's departure, one could see Bayern had some problems during the beginning of this season.

"We spoke about it also with James.

"I asked him to be calm, because he was going to a great club, no matter the fact that the coach that was with him in Real Madrid and took him there.

"I asked him not to be affected by the situation because he had to do what the club expects."
