NATIONAL hero Mohamed Salah has had a school renamed in his honour after firing Egypt to the World Cup.
The Liverpool forward scored both goals for The Pharaohs as they defeated Congo 2-1 on Sunday night.
And now he has been honoured in his hometown of Basyoun after sealing his country's first appearance at the showpiece for the first time in 28 years.
Gharbia governor Ahmed Deif revealed that the school Salah graduated from has been named after the attacker.
He bagged the first at the El-Arab Stadium on 62 minutes.
But it was his last-gasp penalty that secured the win and a place at Russia 2018.
The ex-Arab Contractors star has been the standout performer for Egypt throughout their campaign.
Salah has scored five goals and two assists during his five appearances during the World Cup qualifiers.
He has also been in fine form since his summer arrival at Liverpool.
The 25-year-old has found the net six times in his first 11 matches for the Anfield side.
