TRIPLE HUNT

Tottenham, Newcastle and Crystal Palace tracking Besiktas striker Cenk Tosun after sending scouts to watch him

TOTTENHAM head the list of three Premier League clubs who have sent scouts to watch Turkey striker Cenk Tosun.

Spurs have been alerted to the Besiktas forward as the club look to bring in some more attacking support to their squad.

They were in the stands last Friday to get a first hand look at the 26-year-old in the World Cup qualifying match against Iceland last week.

And it is also understood they took in last night's clash against Finland which saw Tosun score both goals in the 2-2 draw.

But Tottenham face stiff competition if they wanted to take their interest in the forward on further - with both Newcastle and Crystal Palace also keen.

Newcastle and Palace have also had scouts present to watch the last two Turkey matches as they also scour Europe looking for options ahead of the January transfer window.

Tosun has grown in stature since moving to Besiktas three years ago and last season made a big impact with 27 goals in 51 matches for club and country.

That alerted clubs in the Premier League to his talents, with Palace making an enquiry in the summer about his availability.

No move materialised before the transfer window closed, but Tosun has continued in good form this season with five goals in 11 club and country matches.

Palace have maintained their interest over the past couple of months, but have now been joined by Newcastle and Spurs who also need to bolster their attacking options.

Tottenham know they cannot rely just on Harry Kane to provide the goals, and having let Vincent Janssen leave on loan they are short of back-up.

Newcastle have found goals hard to come by at times this season and manager Rafa Benitez is hoping to bring in more of a cutting edge in January.

Palace's need is the most pressing with the London club still without a league goal so far this season and slumped at the foot of the table.

But unless they string a run of results together soon they could find it hard to persuade someone to swap Champions League football in Turkey for Selhurst Park.
