Mesut Ozil urged to snub Manchester United and return to Germany by former Liverpool striker Karl-Heinz Riedle
MESUT OZIL is being urged to turn his back on the Premier League's riches and return to Germany.
The Arsenal playmaker is out of contract in the summer and has been linked with Manchester United.
But former Liverpool striker Karl-Heinz Riedle insists Ozil should dodge a lucrative Old Trafford switch for the good of his career.
He told Omnisport: "Ozil going back to Germany? Who knows.
"There’s a rumour that he goes to Manchester United. He shouldn’t do it.
"Ozil is a quality player. If you see his skills, it’s just amazing what he can do on the pitch.

"We would be very happy if he comes back to a club in Germany, for sure. But I’m not his agent so I don’t know where he ends up.
"The best option is if he would, from my point, if he would come to the Bundesliga. It’s a really good option because we get another national player back in our league.
"But if he is looking only for the money, then it would be very difficult to find the same kind of money in the German league than he can find in the Premier League."
Ozil is facing a humiliating Arsenal climbdown after failing to attract any offers for his services.
As it stands, no club is willing to meet his mammoth £330,000-a-week wage demands and United have not yet made up their minds.
Arsene Wenger will listen to offers in the region of £20m in January if no agreement can be reached by the end of the year.
