Dani Alves reckons Alexis Sanchez should join him at PSG but is ‘being heavily courted by many teams’

DANI ALVES has claimed it is possible Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez could join him at Paris Saint-Germain.

Sanchez is in the last season of his contract at the Emirates and is showing no signs he is ready to extend his stay in North London.

PSG are one of the clubs who have shown an interest in signing the 28-year-old who will be available on a free transfer next summer.

And the French club's defender Alves is keen on him joining him in Paris as the side look to become one of the giants of European football.

Alves was up against Sanchez on international duty this week when his Brazil side beat Chile in a World Cup qualifier which saw Sanchez's side crash out of the competition.

And afterwards he was quizzed buy reporters about the prospect of linking up with the attacking midfielder at club level next season.

Alves said: “It is possible. He is being heavily courted by many teams.

"I will be happy for him wherever he goes. But if it is to come to us, then that’s better.”

Sanchez looks increasingly likely to be leaving Arsenal next summer no matter what Arsene Wenger does to try to convince him to sign a new contract.

He was close to joining Manchester City on transfer deadline day in a £60million move, only for it to collapse when the Gunners failed to land a replacement.

But local rivals Manchester United have also shown an interest in signing him since then, with Jose Mourinho hoping to pinch him from under the noses of City.

So PSG know they face stiff competition in the battle to land the world class talent on a free transfer.

Arsenal fans already upset at Sanchez failing to commit himself to the club are now even more frustrated following Chile's World Cup exit.

For the past few years the Gunners have forced to accept Sanchez being overworked throughout the summer on international duty, reporting back for club duty without a long break.

And now the one summer when Sanchez will have plenty of time to relax will be the one where he is unlikely to return as an Arsenal player.

The summer transfer window was one the craziest we have ever seen.
