Zlatan Ibrahimovic joins Romelu Lukaku, David de Gea and co at Manchester United training as he edges closer to sensational comeback
ZLATAN IBRAHIMOVIC may have felt fitter than some of his team-mates today as he joined up for Manchester United training.
The maverick Swedish striker is still undergoing intensive sessions as he builds up his fitness ahead of his expected January return.
But with most of his team-mates returning to the Carrington training complex after featuring for their respective countries on international duty, Zlatan may have been perkier than most.
The 36-year-old was pictured driving in and out of training today showing off some new wheels, a Volvo XC60 Hybrid, retailing around £56,000.
And United boss Jose Mourinho might just be wishing he was in contention for this weekend for their crunch clash away at Liverpool.
Leading scorer Romelu Lukaku came off the bench last night for Belgium in their dead rubber clash against Cyprus.
The 24-year-old netted as Belgium romped home 4-0, but it came just days after he was touch-and-go after picking up an ankle injury.
Mourinho will be desperate for him to play the full 90 against their fierce rivals, and with Zlatan out of contention, he is the only physical presence up top at Mourinho's disposal.
Lukaku, 24, missed Belgium’s 4-3 win in Bosnia on Saturday with an ankle problem he picked up in United's 4-0 thrashing of Crystal Palace.
But Belgium manager Roberto Martinez declared his hitman “100 per cent fit” to face Cyprus in the Red Devils’ final World Cup qualifier in Brussels, and brought him off the bench.
