Romelu Lukaku injury: Jose Mourinho furious with Belgium for risking striker in Cyprus dead rubber
JOSE MOURINHO is fuming that Romelu Lukaku played for Belgium against Cyprus.
Manchester United striker Lukaku, 24, missed his country's 4-3 win in Bosnia on Saturday with an ankle problem he picked up with his club.
But boss Roberto Martinez declared his hitman “100 per cent fit” before bringing him on after 66 minutes against Cyprus in the Red Devils’ final World Cup qualifier on Tuesday.
Before seeing Lukaku net in the 4-0 win, Mourinho said: "If he plays it’s because he has recovered."
With Martinez's side already qualified, he sarcastically added: "It’s a very important match for them.
"They need the match to qualify so I just wait."
