EMRE CAN has revealed Liverpool's plan to beat bitter rivals Manchester United at the weekend.

The Reds go into the game having won just one of their last seven - while Jose Mourinho's teams have won six in a row and nine out of 10.

But Can, who starred for Germany during the international break, reckons Liverpool can get over their recent poor form and get back on track in the Premier League.

He told the Liverpool website: "It’s for Liverpool the city, the fans and for us.

"It will be a very, very tough game because Manchester United have done very well this season so far. But we know we are strong too and we are really looking forward to the game.

"We have to be hard in the tackles, we have to try to dominate the game and score the goals when we create chances. We will see what happens.

"It’s always special to play at Anfield and now against Manchester United after a few weeks of not playing at Anfield.

"We are really excited and looking forward to the game and to play at Anfield again."

Can also admitted that the international break came at just the right time for Jurgen Klopp's struggling team.

He added: "For everybody, it was not an easy time before the international break. But we have to all stick together and try to give our best on the pitch – then we will come back to winning ways.

"It’s just a small step, I think. We try, we play well and we create very good chances. We have to score the goals and if we do, we’ll be back on track."
