Ex-Tottenham and AC Milan star Kevin-Prince Boateng calls for video technology to identify racists
FORMER Tottenham and Portsmouth star Kevin-Prince Boateng has called for racist football fans to be identified by video technology.
The Eintracht Frankfurt man highlighted the impact of VAR and goal-line tech and called for it to be extended to supporters.
He wants it to be used in order to catch and ban anyone guilty of racist behaviour.
With the incredible breakthroughs in recent years, he says it must be possible to regulate the stands too.
Speaking to Focus, Boateng said: "We are in the year 2017 and we have still not found a way to do it.
"Why do we not use the technology so that every racist is identified, kicked out and never returned to the stadium?
"We have goal-line technology and video evidence that says [against Wolfsburg in August] that Boateng was offside and the penalty was not given."
The Ghana international has been no stranger to racist behaviour.
Boateng has suffered at the hands of it on several occasions while playing for AC Milan.
Back in 2013 against Pro Patria in 2013, he picked up the ball during the first half and volleyed it into the crowd before storming off the field in protest over racist chants from the stands.
