DELE ALLI wants to become Tottenham’s highest-paid player on £160,000 a week.

Spurs are in talks to hand the midfielder a fresh contract even though he still has four years left on the £50,000-a-week deal he signed 12 months ago.

Hugo Lloris and Harry Kane are Spurs’ biggest earners on basics of around £100,000 a week.

But England star Alli, 21, wants to ensure he outshines all of his team-mates with his next contract.

Meanwhile, Mauricio Pochettino continued to fire back at Pep Guardiola after the Man City manager branded Spurs ‘the Harry Kane’ team.

Speaking to the written media during yesterday’s press conference, Poch said: “If you are in Barcelona and you have Lionel Messi in your team there is a temptation to say that you win, or you won, because of Messi in the team.

“But always I have been a football person, a manager who defends and supports the job of the manager, of Pep.

“I would say: ‘OK, Messi is very good, Iniesta is very good, Puyol is very good, Xavi is very good. But without organisation, without a great job from the manager it is difficult to win’.

“I know that very well and that’s why I’m always supportive.

“When people said ‘Nah, it’s all about Messi’, I would say ‘No, no, no. Messi is one of the best but Guardiola is a great manager’.”
