Danny Welbeck and Laurent Koscielny in double injury blow for Arsenal as both face spell on sidelines

Injured duo suffer respective hamstring and muscular problems in Arsenal's disappointing 2-1 loss at Watford

ARSENAL added injury to insult after their 2-1 loss at Watford.

After a contentious penalty decision went against them, the Gunners also had some injury worries for Danny Welbeck and Laurent Koscielny to add to their woes.

Both players have been struggling with their fitness and could face another stint on the sidelines.

On the day Per Mertesacker headed Arsenal into the lead.

But a hotly-disputed Troy Deeney penalty and Tom Cleverley's late winner sealed a memorable 2-1 Watford victory.

Then Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger delivered his fitness report.

"It looks to be a hamstring with Welbeck,” he said.

“I don’t really know because everybody is shocked in the dressing room [about the result]. It looks a muscular problem.

The Arsenal boss added: “Koscielny is a muscular problem as well.”

Wenger left out both Alexis Sanchez and Aaron Ramsey after their disappointing midweek World Cup exploits.

Fit-again Mesut Ozil was only on the bench.

The penalty incident saw Hector Bellerin eemed to have fouled Richarlison in the box.

It looked like the lightest of touches but referee Neil Swarbrick showed no hesitation in pointing to the spot.
