Troy Deeney trolls Arsenal’s Hector Bellerin over his haircut and ‘scandalous’ penalty

Richarlison was brought down by Spain defender under seemingly minimal contact but Hornets hero poked fun at the Arsenal player and incident

WATFORD skipper Troy Deeney trolled Hector Bellerin over his haircut after the Hornets stunned the Gunners at Vicarage Road.

Arsenal gave away a one goal lead to a Troy Deeney penalty and then a dramatic finish from ex-Manchester United midfielder Tom Cleverly.

The penalty that brought Watford back into the game has caused a great deal of controversy both during and after the game.

Richarlison went down under seemingly minimal contact from the Spain defender and Deeney netted from the spot to level the scores at 1-1.

Former Manchester United star Tom Cleverley then struck in the dying minutes to secure all three points.

But asked about Bellerin's belief that it was not a penalty, Deeney responded in true mischievous fashion.

The striker said: "Yeah, because he's got his long hair in the way he can't see what he's doing.

"I'm pretty sure if it was the other way round he'd be screaming it was a penalty all day."

It wasn't only the players who felt strongly toward the decision, an angry Arsene Wenger has also weighed in on the situation and the defeat.

The French boss said: "We were unlucky. That penalty was a bit ridiculous. I think it's a scandalous decision.

"We got ourselves into many situations when we could have scored, but we did not take the chances."

The Brazilian winger could face a two match ban if his penalty is deemed a dive.

Former ref Graham Poll reckons the Watford man tricked the ref and that the Brazilian should be punished for deceiving the referee.

While the penalty decision is debatable, Deeney believes one thing is not and that is Arsenal's lack of bravery - or in his words "Cojones".
