Manchester City star Benjamin Mendy step closer to recovery after having surgery stitches removed from his injured knee
French full-back suffered the injury against Crystal Palace last month but could now be set to miss the whole season
MANCHESTER CITY star Benjamin Mendy has moved one step closer to recovery after having his surgery stitches removed from his injured knee.
The French full-back, 23, suffered the injury against Crystal Palace last month but could be set to miss the whole season after rupturing his cruciate ligament.
City ace Mendy had enjoyed a strong start to his Premier League career before going down injured in just his fifth game.
But the left-back appeared in fine spirits as he waved goodbye to his surgery stitches.
Posting an image of the procedure on social media, Mendy captioned the snap: "Bye bye".
Last week, Mendy showed off the state-of-the-art rehab therapy he's using to help him recover from the knee injury.
Mendy has posted the video on social media showing the treatment he is getting in Barcelona.
He also shared an image on Instagram with the caption: "How happy I am to be able to scratch my scar."
Before City knew the full extent of the injury, Pep Guardiola said: "It is very frustrating for him first as a person.
"Like with Ilkay Gundogan last year, I feel sorry for him. We would miss him a lot, it would be a major setback."
