KEVIN DE BRUYNE , David Silva and Fernandinho were involved in a heated exchange just before half-time.

It appears the Belgian wanted to rant at the fourth official — despite the hosts being comfortably 2-0 ahead against Serie A leaders Napoli.

Captain Silva tried to lead De Bruyne away, but he could be heard repeatedly exclaiming: "Let me talk!"

It is unclear exactly what had upset the former Chelsea midfielder, but was restrained by his skipper.

Fernandinho also got involved to try to calm De Bruyne down.

City stormed to a 2-0 lead through goals from Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus.

Many had anticipated a high-scoring contest between the Premier League and Serie A leaders.

And Napoli had the chance to equalise when they were awarded a spot-kick.

However, Dries Mertens saw his effort saved by City stopper Ederson.

The Italian side eventually did pull one back with another spot-kick late on.
