JOEL CAMPBELL wants to quit Arsenal and stay at Real Betis.

The Costa Rica forward is set for the World Cup ahead of his Gunners contract expiring next summer.

And Campbell, who is in his sixth loan stint and second at Betis, says it is "a secret for no-one" that he wants to stay in Spain.

He added: "I will try to give my best this season, (hopefully) in the end the club is happy with what I do and they want to bet on me."

Clubs can talk to Campbell, 25, about a pre-contract agreement in January.

He impressed at the 2014 World Cup and was expected to feature more regularly under Arsene Wenger.

After a spell at Villarreal the following season he returned to make 19 Premier League outings in the 2015-16 campaign.

But he was again shipped out last season and heading to Sporting Lisbon.

He had to wait until the weekend to make his second debut for Betis after picking up a knee injury that required surgery.

And he scored in an epic, although he was on the receiving end of a 6-3 defeat at Valencia.

Campbell pulled one back at 4-0 down as seven goals rained in the final half an hour.
