CRISTIANO RONALDO sent Twitter into meltdown on Tuesday night, not for scoring against Tottenham, but for SINGING along to the Champions League anthem.

The Real Madrid star showed yet again why loves Europe's premier competition as he was caught on camera blaring out the lyrics before Los Blancos faced Spurs.

Ronaldo - a four-time Champions League winner - could hardly help himself from singing along as he looks to help Madrid to three back-to-back titles.

And it was the Portuguese maestro who was the star man for Zinedine Zidane yet again as his first half penalty earned a share of the spoils at the Bernabeu in a frustrating 1-1 draw.

Fans could hardly believe what they were witnessing before kick-off - with supporters both lauding and criticising the former Manchester United hero.

As the camera panned to Ronaldo during the line-up, he could be seen mouthing the words to the iconic anthem, with one fan tweeting: "Only Christiano (sic) Ronaldo would be as arrogant as to actually sing the Champions League anthem!

Another fan posted: "Quality seeing really Ronaldo singing along to champions league anthem, not being funny but this exactly what I would do if I was there!"

One person was fully behind his decision to sing, he said: "Fair play to him that’s his jam, CL king."

The Champions League song was written by British composer Tony Britten in 1992, and the chorus is sung in three official languages: English, French and German.
