But The Daily Mail claim Clarets chief Dyche could cost £2.5million if King Power chiefs want to buy out his contract.

Dyche, 46, has a growing reputation in English football after turning his side into a solid Premier League side on a modest budget.

And despite their recent struggles, a move to former champions Leicester would be a step up in his managerial career.

On a personal level, the move would suit Dyche, whose family are based in Northampton.

Former Borussia Dortmund boss Thomas Tuchel, 44, is also on a shortlist but would need to be persuaded to take a step down in pedigree.

Huddersfield's David Wagner and Watford's Marco Silva have also been linked, with Chris Coleman another option.

But ex-Crystal Palace chief Sam Allarydce - who also turned down the chance to go for the Scotland job - insists he is not ready to return to management yet.

He told told TalkSport: "As much as I'd love to manager Leicester, I don't think it's time for me to manage yet,' the former England boss.

"I'm not ready, I don't think. I just feel I am enjoying my life too much. Yes, it would have interested me, yes I would take the Leicester job but not at this time."
