Fans are growing increasingly restless at fixtures being held at awkward times so they can be on TV.

And when SkySports proposed a 4pm kick-off on December 24, concerns were immediately raised.

Stewards were reluctant to staff the game, while Premier League chief executive Richard Scudamore promised the game would to start that late.

The last train from London to Liverpool on the date is at 6.40pm, which would given fans little time to make it from the Emirates to Euston.

Representatives from the Football Supporters' Federation met with Scudamore earlier this month and released a statement on the hot topic.

The FSF said: “FSF led 20 fan reps into meeting with PL CEO R Scudamore this morning. TV rights, KO times, standing, security.

“At today's PL/FSF Fans Group meeting Richard Scudamore commits to no 4pm KO or later on Christmas Eve. Fans from all clubs represented.
