Marco Silva tells Troy Deeney to keep his mouth shut after Watford star’s Arsenal blast
Deeney launched a stinging criticism of Arsenal's bottle after the Hornets snatched a late win over the Gunners last week
TROY DEENEY has been told to keep his mouth shut by Marco Silva.
The Watford boss was unimpressed with his player’s attack on Arsenal’s stars after their 2-1 loss at Vicarage Road.
Deeney claimed Arsene Wenger’s side lack “cojones”and added: “Whenever I play Arsenal, I go up and try to whack them and think ‘who wants it?’”
Silva said: “Troy Deeney knows my opinion on this. My opinion will stay between me and him.
"I spoke to him about everything. We will see in the next match and we will see what happens.
“About what was said, I spoke with him and it is finished. It is important for us and a club, for our players to speak about our work and what we do as a team.
“For my players we must look inside and not outside and respect ourselves, as well.
"That moment, Troy gave his opinion but it is finished now.”
Silva’s fourth-placed team face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge tomorrow.
