WHAT a football club… from League One to Premier League champions to Champions League quarter-finalist!

Craig Shakespeare came on that journey with all us Leicester City fans.

He coached the dream. He coached a team full of rejects, has-beens, kids and wannabe superstars from the club's lowest ever league position to pinnacle of English football.

He was there when we dreamed a dream: 5000-1, zero to hero. And now that is truly over.

As soon as he was appointed, many fans were immediately worried that although clearly a great guy and an amazing coach - remember he was selected as Sam Allardyce’s assistant for his one game in charge of England -he had zero managerial qualifications.

Worse still, we worried that if it all went wrong, we not only lost a manager, but we lost the club’s best EVER coaching assistant.

We have lost one of the main foundations that our club was resting on.

He was with us at Yeovil away just a few years ago, and he was with us when Claudio Ranieri and the lads bounced around the King Power to Kasabian as we lifted the Premier League trophy aloft.

Yes, we did that, yes SHAKEY did that for us.

What is next on the rollercoaster ride that is Leicester City ? We simply do not know. Could we go up and up again?

Could we get back into the Champions League… or could we fall down the trap door again?

We all hoped that we were no longer a yoyo club and that we could establish ourselves as the top team outside of the top six.

As fans we simply haven’t got a clue will happen next - it must be boring to be a Chelsea, Manchester United or Manchester City fan knowing you will always be in the top six!

The fans want a manager with experience, proven in the Premier League.

Many think Big Sam ticks many boxes and his pedigree would mean that most would be happy with him.

Familiar names are trotted out and managers such as Alan Pardew would also fit the bill.

But to hear names such as Carlo Ancelotti being linked with Leicester City is more exciting.

We ran an online poll and the fans want Ancelotti as their number one, with Big Sam was a close second.
