Werner says he supported Man United as a youngster, and admits he 'dreams of playing somewhere else'
MANCHESTER UNITED have been given a transfer boost after RB Leipzig wonderkid Timo Werner admits he "dreams" of playing for the club.
The 21-year-old has taken the Bundesliga by storm so far this season, scoring five goals in six games so far.
He has also netted six times in just eight games for the Germany senior team.
It has alerted a host of top clubs in Europe to his talents, with United being linked along with the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona.
But the Red Devils could have an advantage in the pursuit - Werner is a big fan.
Speaking to Sky, Werner said: "As a young boy, you always dream of the big club you'd like to play for.
"It used to be Manchester United under Alex Ferguson, who always won. A young boy is always a fan of those who win.
"You can't just drop something like that. When it's going well, you dream of playing somewhere else."

The 21-year-old attacker is rarity, highly rated by Europe’s big boys and not subject to a huge release clause.
Werner is contracted at Leipzig for another three years and is happy working under the guidance of coach Ralph Hasenhuttl.

He hit three goals for Joachim Low’s side at the Confederations Cup in Russia and will be pushing to be part of his World Cup squad next summer.
