Barcelona boss Ernesto Valverde hails ‘priceless’ Luis Suarez despite his dry run in front of goal lately… but just how far off the pace is the-ex Liverpool ace?
BARCELONA boss Ernesto Valverde has hailed Luis Suarez as "priceless" despite his dry run in front of goal this season.
The Uruguayan hitman, 30, has now drawn a blank in EIGHT games for the Catalan giants this season, scoring just three times.
Most recently, Suarez failed to score in the 2-0 win over Malaga at the Nou Camp.
But Barca chief Valverde is not concerned about the dip in form, despite the stats making for woeful reading.
On Suarez, Valverde said: “I’m not worried at all because the important thing for strikers is that they have chances.
“He had a great match against Atletico and was lively against Olympiakos.
"That aggressiveness and ambition in the long run will benefit us.
“Luis Suarez is priceless for us. I don’t see any problems with him."
In his first three seasons at Barcelona, Suarez netted 121 times in just 147 games - despite competing with Neymar AND Lionel Messi for goals - at 0.82 goals per outing.
However, in 2017-18 so far, Suarez has scored just three times in 11 games at a meagre 0.27 goals per game.

He had a gilt-edged chance to get on the score-sheet in the 74th-minute against Malaga on Saturday.
However, Suarez incredibly missed the target and was subbed-off ten minutes later, much to his annoyance.
Barcelona did win the game 2-0, extending their lead at the top of the La Liga charts to eight points, thanks to goals from Gerard Deulofeu and Andres Iniesta.
