Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has claimed Mesut Ozil is back to his best after starring against Everton
The German World Cup winner scored one and set up another as the Gunners romped to a 5-2 win against the Toffees at Goodison Park
ARSENE WENGER has claimed Mesut Ozil is back to his best after the playmaker produced a masterclass at Goodison Park.
The 29-year-old put the Gunners ahead against Everton and then set up Alexandre Lacazette as Arsenal romped to a 5-2 victory.
It was the first time this season that the FA Cup champions have won away from home in the Premier League, as they piled on the pressure on Ronald Koeman.
And speaking in his post-match interview, Wenger lauded the German World Cup winner as he made his return to the starting XI.
He told Sky Sports: "I would say (he is back to his best).
"I told him after the game that a fit Ozil is completely different. If you're not at your best physically, no matter how good you are, you are at a handicap.
"It's very difficult to single out any performances as everyone played very well. It was important to get our first win away from home."
It looked as though it was going to be the same-old story for Arsenal, as they battered Everton in the opening ten minutes, only to fall behind to a Wayne Rooney strike after a mistake from Granit Xhaka.

But Nacho Monreal equalised just before the break, with Ozil and Lacazette putting the North London side firmly in front.
Jack Wilshere then found Aaron Ramsey as the Welshman made it 4-1, before Oumar Niasse netted a consolation strike, with Alexis Sanchez then finding the back of the net deep into injury time.

Celebrating his 68th birthday, Wenger added: "After Wayne Rooney's goal, we should have been 2-0 or 3-0 up, but we were 1-0 down.
"We didn't panic and maintained our focus. Once we equalised, it was all us for the rest of the game.
"I was (concerned) because recently we've been punished for every mistake we make away from home. But I knew there was a long time to go.
"Our away performances this season have not been rewarded."
