Victor Lindelof slammed by Manchester United legend Mikael Silvestre after Huddersfield shocker
But club legend Ryan Giggs reckons fans must show patience and sees no reason why Lindelof cannot become a great
VICTOR LINDELOF has been slammed by former Manchester United centre-back Mikael Silvestre.
United went down 2-1 to Huddersfield on Saturday, with Jose Mourinho furiously tearing into his flops.
Lindelof was partly at fault for the Terriers' first strike before the Swede's howler led to a second.
Silvestre, who won five Prem titles and a Champions League with United, has criticised the £31million signing - but reckons fans need to show patience.
Silvestre, 40, said: "He’s almost clueless as to what’s going on before Aaron Mooy scores the rebound.
"Five minutes later he’s misjudging a long clearance by the goalkeeper and Laurent Depoitre scored again for Huddersfield.

"Never mind him missing the header, it was a bad decision in the first place because even if he manages to direct the ball to David De Gea, it’s dangerous for the goalkeeper; the right decision was to clear the ball.
"It’s psychological, as a defender you're still thinking about your involvement in the first goal.
"Lindelof didn't live the moment, he was in the past and that’s why he didn't make the right decision in the build-up to Depoitre’s goal.

"Lindelof will get a second chance because of the amount of games Manchester United have this year. But fans need to be patient."
Ryan Giggs has also urged fans not to be too hasty in writing off Lindelof - who the Old Trafford legend believes could go on to emulate some of United's best defenders of recent years.
Giggs insists: "He certainly shouldn't be written off yet.
FLIPS OVER FLOPS Jose Mourinho flipped and flung his coat to the floor as he tore into Man Utd flops after 2-1 defeat to Huddersfield
"Some players come to the Premier League and bed in straight away and others can take six months or even a year, as it was for Patrice Evra, Jaap Stam and Nemanja Vidic, and they went on to be unbelievable players.
"You win together and lose together and you can't single out a player, especially when he hasn't been playing regularly.
"He's just got to knuckle down and come through this."
