Manchester United transfer news: Arsenal star Mesut Ozil eyeing Real Madrid and Barcelona if Red Devils don’t make an offer
Germany playmaker out of contract at the end of the season and looks increasingly likely to leave north London
MANCHESTER UNITED have NOT made a move for Mesut Ozil, according to reports.
But the Manchester Evening News claims United are one of three clubs the Arsenal contract rebel is open to joining, alongside Real Madrid and Barcelona.
Arsenal are yet to agree a new deal with Ozil and he looks increasingly likely to become a free agent next summer.
The playmaker is apparently open to staying at Arsenal for £200,000-a-week wages but could earn even more than that if he moves away from the Emirates.
Ozil is said to be keen on a return to Real Madrid, with Barcelona also a possible destination.
But if he stays in England, the 29-year-old will only consider joining United.

Ozil remains close to former Bernabeu boss Jose Mourinho and believes he has a great chance of landing a major trophy under the Special One.
A source told the MEN: “I know he is always in contact with Mourinho because he likes him. He thinks he is the best coach he ever played for. He has a special relationship with him.”

Unfortunately for Ozil thought, the report adds that United are yet to formally register their interest in him.
There’s also no chance Arsenal would sell to a direct rival midway through the season, meaning any chance of an Old Trafford switch would have to wait until the summer.
