Jurgen Klopp set to rip up Liverpool defence after another shocking show in bid to save their season
The Anfield manager is ready to axe several of his under-performing stars such and hand youngsters Joe Gomez and Trent Alexander-Arnold an extended run
JURGEN KLOPP is ready to wield the axe on several of his flops to get Liverpool's top-four bid back on track.
The German coach will turn to the club's youngsters in a bid to solve the defensive crisis that is undermining their season.
Experienced centre-half Dejan Lovren, who was hauled off midway through the first half in Sunday's 4-1 drubbing at Tottenham, is set to be taken out of the firing line.
Klopp does have further experience in reserve in the form of 31-year-old Ragnar Klavan.
However, he will turn to England Under-21s captain Joe Gomez to help shore up his backline.
The former Charlton ace has been deployed at full-back during his previous Premier League outings but will now get the opportunity to impress in his favoured position.
And that means that Trent Alexander-Arnold will become first-choice right-back.
The 19-year-old exploded onto the scene at the start of the campaign and has produced some stunning displays in the Champions League - finding the net twice.

In an effort to protect him, he has been used sparingly during recent weeks, but is now set for an extended run in the starting XI.
Klopp is also set to take another look at his goalkeeping situation.
