Liverpool want Emerson Palmieri from Roma in £22million January deal as Jurgen Klopp looks to bolster his defence
Brazil-born Italian defender has been injured since May with cruciate ligament problem but is set to recover by January
LIVERPOOL are reportedly set to offer £22million for Roma star Emerson Palmieri.
Calciomercato claims Jurgen Klopp sees the left-back as man to help shore up his dismal defence.
Palmieri was born in Brazil but is eligible to play for Italy after arriving in the country three years ago.
The 23-year-old made 36 appearances for Roma last season, helping them to a second-place finish in Serie A.
But Palmieri is yet to feature this season after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament injury in May.
New signing Aleksandar Kolarov has also impressed in his position after joining Roma from Manchester City.

The report claims Klopp is willing to offer £22m for Palmieri in January, which would see the ace receive a big wage boost.

Liverpool are said to be unhappy with Alberto Moreno’s recent performances, and want Palmieri to replace him in the team despite signing Andrew Robertson from Hull over the summer.
It’s added that Klopp will offer Palmieri a contract until 2022, showing that Liverpool are ready to put their faith in him for the long-term.
