Arsenal's board were grilled at the AGM meeting by angry shareholders who failed to oust chairman Sir Chips Keswick and director Josh Kroenke.

And there have been continued calls to axe French boss Wenger after a shaky start to the season which sees Arsenal sat fifth in the Premier League.

However, one person who has garnered the support of the Gunner faithful this season is Jack Wilshere despite only playing 13 minutes of league football.

The 25-year-old was in training today once again hoping to cement his first league start after shining as a substitute in their last Premier League clash where Arsenal gave Everton a 5-2 thumping and as a starter in the Carabao Cup win over Norwich.

The midfielder's lack of time on the pitch is just another reason for fans to vent their frustrations with the Arsenal boss, who despite saying the England international is making his way back to his best consistently overlooks him.

The 28-year-old was dubbed the star man in the last top-tier game after driving in the Gunner's fifth and final goal at Goodison Park.

It took a while for the Chilean to switch his focus back to club football following his international duty - which kept him out of the loss to Watford - but Sanchez will look to clinch another starting role before his likely departure in January.

Arsenal are in need of another win to turn round their season and earn back the good graces of the fans after Wenger urged them to stay behind the team until the end of the season.

The Emirates club currently sit fifth in the Premier League, tied for 16 points with defending champions Chelsea.

Their domestic schedule only gets harder in the coming weeks with the next two league clashes coming against top-dogs Manchester City who sit five points clear at the top and third-placed Tottenham.
