AXEL TUANZEBE and Luke Shaw look set to be included in the Manchester United squad to face Benfica, hints reserve team skipper Joe Riley.
The Red Devils defenders have featured just three times between them under Jose Mourinho this season, but could be given a chance in the upcoming Champions League clash.
And there could be a place in the squad for striker James Wilson, as he looks to force his way into contention after loan spells at Brighton and Derby County.
The trio were all omitted from the Under-23 match against Sunderland on Sunday afternoon, in which United won 1-0 courtesy of a Demetri Mitchell penalty.
Skipper Joe Riley told MUTV that their absence from the side is due to the fact that they will be called up to the first team squad when the Portuguese giants come to Old Trafford on Tuesday.
He said: "Obviously we’ve got the game on Tuesday night and a few of the lads are playing in that.
"So some of the younger lads came in and did well."
Tuanzebe missed the U-23 fixture against Liverpool recently, and then earned praise from Mourinho after he started against Swansea City in the Carabao Cup in which he impressed.

Left-back Luke Shaw came on as late substitute in the 2-0 win against the Swans at the Liberty Stadium, while Wilson is looking to make his first appearance of the campaign.
The 21-year-old not seem to be in the plans of the ex-Chelsea boss, and the forward recently revealed he would be open to a January move away from the Theatre of Dreams - with Reading interested.
