Another action-packed weekend has come and gone and so we look back at the highs and lows after the latest clashes
ANOTHER action packed weekend has come and gone in the Premier League with plenty of talking points.
So let's take a look back at the winners and losers as we hit double figures for games played.
Down in Dorset
It’s not looking good for Bournemouth. Losing to the champions Chelsea can be forgiven but the fact that they only mustered one shot on target in the whole match is very worrying, especially as they’ve only scored six goals to date this season.
The next six games will, in all likelihood, define their season. The Cherries face Newcastle, Huddersfield, Swansea, Burnley, Southampton and Crystal Palace, matches where they’ll need to pick up some much needed points.
Why? Because they face Manchester United, Liverpool and Manchester City after that.
Home comforts
For all the doom and gloom that surrounds Arsenal on any given day of the week, it’s worth remembering just how good they are at the Emirates.
It’s 11 years since the Gunners moved into their new stadium and on the occasion of Arsene Wenger’s 800th game in charge, Arsenal came from behind to beat Swansea 2-1.
So what? Well, get this. It was their 13th game on the spin that they’ve won at the Emirates and that’s their longest ever run at the stadium.
It’s the kind of home form that wins titles. Get the away form right and who knows what they might achieve this term.

Anybody else catch Jose’s shush gesture at the end of the win over Spurs? When he was asked what he meant by it, Mourinho offered the following explanation:
“Some people speak too much. You know, calm down, relax. Relax a little bit. Don’t speak too much – speak, speak, speak. You know, relax.”
Funny, that’s just what I think whenever I hear Jose.
Kane not able
It was Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola that jokingly referred to Tottenham as the ‘Harry Kane team’ recently but it seems he may just have had a point after all.
Without their star striker Spurs really were a shadow of the side that we usually see, so much so, in fact, that they didn’t manage a single shot on target in the second half.
Of course you’re going to miss a player of Kane’s calibre but the reliance on him and, for that matter, the lack of options to replace him continue to be one of the key issues that Mauricio Pochettino or, more pertinently, Daniel Levy, needs to address.
Will the Spurs chairman green light reinforcements in January? Or will he cash in on Kane? It’s an issue that’s going to come to a head in the not too distant future.
Stat’s amazing
If I were a bookie I’d pay out on Manchester City winning the league right now.
Yes, rivals United are scraping wins and boring everyone to tears but they’re several furlongs behind City.
The stats say it all.
City have made the best ever start to a Premier League season after 10 games, amassing 28 points with a goal difference of +29. They’re unbeaten in 21 games in all competitions – their longest run without defeat in their history – and they’ve won their last eight Premier League games by a margin of 32 goals to just five.
It’s a frankly awesome set of numbers that, unlike last season, shows no sign of stopping any time soon.
Not so Good-ison
When Everton splashed out over £150 million in the summer they were many observers tip for a top four spot. Ten games in and they’re languishing in the bottom three with their proud record of never having been out of the top flight since the 1950s at real risk.
After another defeat this weekend, it’s fairly safe to say that David Unsworth isn’t likely to get the manager’s job on a permanent basis but who is the right man to save them now?
Well, you can forget about Ancelotti and Mancini. Disregard Dyche too.
There’s only one man who can turn this team round.
