Everton defender Michael Keane missed Leicester loss after being hospitalised with ‘really nasty’ infection in leg gash

EVERTON are hopeful Michael Keane will make a quick recovery from injury after missing the Toffees defeat at Leicester on Sunday.
The 24-year-old defender was injured in Everton's 3-0 League Cup win over Sunderland last month.
He sustained a gash on his leg and despite featuring in games after the injury, the wound was bothering him during games.
The injury then became infected and the defender was admitted to hospital on Friday to undergo treatment.
Keane posted on picture on social media from his hospital bed to show support for the Merseysiders.
He said on Instagram: "Come on boys" just before kick-off at the King Power stadium.

But caretaker boss David Unsworth is hopeful the England international, who watched Sunday’s loss from his hospital bed will be fit for Sunday’s vital home game with Watford.
Unsworth said : “Michael got a knock, a really bad gash against Sunderland, and it got infected and spread up his leg.
"It's been really, really nasty and he's been hospitalised.
"We got some good news when we got to the ground that there's been a big improvement, so hopefully he can be available for Sunday's game (against Watford).”
Keane has made eight Premier League appearances this term, having arrived from Burnley in the close-season.
Everton are in the relegation zone following their loss to Leicester, behind 17th-placed Swansea City on goal difference after 10 games.
