ROMELU LUKAKU is nicknamed "The Lawyer" by Belgium coach Thierry Henry, and he was looking pretty sophisticated as he checked into the Lowry today.

Manchester United's star striker joined his team-mates as they arrived at the five-star hotel in Salford ahead of their Champions League clash at home to Benfica.

And although he was wearing his club tracksuit, the £75million-man sported a pair of trendy glasses as he entered the team's base.

The Red Devils have won three from three in this year's competition, narrowly overcoming the Portuguese side thanks to a Marcus Rashford goal last time out.

Domestically they had a wobble with a shock defeat to Huddersfield, but have had to battle through an injury crisis and look certain to qualify as group winners.

Benfica have lost all three of their games and must win to stand any chance of qualifying of the last-16.

Earlier today SunSport reported how his boss Jose Mourinho as once again sprung to the defence of "untouchable" top scorer Romelu Lukaku.

This time he's asked the Old Trafford faithful not to boo him.

Lukaku has not scored in five games and on Saturday there were groans directed at his work-rate in the win against Tottenham.

The Old Trafford boss fumed: “I would like supporters to explain to me why they don’t support Lukaku so much because he gives everything.

"It is not fair when scoring or not scoring makes all the difference.”

Now, in the build-up to Tuesday's Champions League home clash with Benfica, Mourinho has labelled the Belgian "untouchable".

Having netted 16 goals in his first 13 appearances of the season for club and country, Lukaku has gone off the boil.

But Mourinho said: "The fans pay for their tickets and are free to express themselves the way they want.

"But my job is when I feel they deserve is to protect my players.

"I think Romelu is one of the players that should be untouchable in terms of the respect of everyone.

The players, and manager Jose Mourinho, looked relaxed as they walked up the steps into their plush stayover.
