Mauricio Pochettino admits he is ‘proud’ over links to Real Madrid manager role
Spurs boss impressed with attacking formation at the Bernabeu in 1-1 Champions League draw and calls situation at club now 'beautiful'
MAURICIO POCHETTINO has admitted he is "proud" over his links to the Real Madrid top job.
The current Spurs boss impressed at the Bernabeu when he brought out an attacking line-up for his side's 1-1 Champions League draw earlier this month.
Many observers felt it was exactly the type of positive, offensive mindset that Bernabeu president Florentino Perez loves.
The sides meet again at Wembley tomorrow night and in an interview with Marca, Poch has done little to quell rumours he has one eye on the seat currently occupied by Zinedine Zidane.
Although he was keen to point out that such rumours only come about because of the quality of the players at his disposal.
Asked what he thinks when he sees his name mentioned as a future Real Madrid manager, Pochettino said: "It makes me feel proud of my players because they are the ones who run, the ones who score.
