Yaya Toure hints he is ready to quit Manchester City for a move to Italy next summer

MANCHESTER CITY midfielder Yaya Toure has put Serie A club on red alert by refusing to rule out a switch to Italy.

Toure, 34, signed a one-year contract last summer, but has fallen down the pecking order this season, restricted to just four games this term as Pep Guardiola’s side set the pace in the Premier League.

The Ivory Coast star is now in his eighth season at the Etihad, helping City to win Premier League titles and two FA Cup, but his time in Mancehster looks to be coming to an end.

He told Gazetta dello Sport: “In the past there have been several contacts with Italian football.

"But then I have followed different and important paths like those of Barcelona and Manchester City.

A win should seal progress through to the knockout stages, but Guardiola could make changes with Sunday’s home game with Arsenal in mind.

Toure was also full of praise  for young Brazilian striker Gabriel Jesus.

The 20-year-old has made an immediate impact in England following his £27million arrival from Palmeiras in January.

The Samba kid has eight goals this season making it 15 in 25 appearances since the turn of the year.

Toure added: “He's doing the right thing with the right pace.

“He's young, he's talented, and it's not easy to fit in with the football of a new country, the future is on his side.”
