Stat attack

  • This will be the first meeting between the teams since the third round of the FA Cup in 2009/10 – West Brom won 2-0 at the John Smith’s Stadium with goals from Graham Dorrans and Chris Wood.
  • The last time these sides met in the league was in the 2000/01 season in the second tier – they haven’t met in the top-flight since 1971/72, with Huddersfield picking up one of only four home wins that season against the Baggies.
  • The Terriers are looking to win back to back top-flight home games for the first time since they beat Ron Greenwood’s West Ham and Brian Clough’s Derby County in November 1971.
  • Huddersfield have won four of their last five top-flight home matches in November (L1) – two of those wins came against West Brom, in 1955 and 1970.
  • West Brom have won the exact same number of points after 10 Premier League games of the season as they did last term (10) – they ended that campaign in 10th.
  • David Wagner’s side have failed to score in six of their last eight Premier League games, having netted four goals in their opening two
  • Tony Pulis’s side have won just two of their last 19 Premier League games (D6 L11) – their opening two games of the 2017-18 campaign.
  • WBA have the oldest starting XI on average this season in the Premier League; 29 years, 161 days old.
  • Their starting lineup against Man City on MD10 was the oldest seen in the Premier League this season (30y 177d).
  • West Brom’s nine Premier League goals this season have been scored by eight different players, with only Jay Rodriguez netting more than once for the Baggies so far.
  • Conversely, Huddersfield Town’s seven Premier League goals have seen three players share two goals each (Steve Mounie, Laurent Depoitre and Aaron Mooy), with the other being an own goal.
A mistake by Victor Lindelof gifted Huddersfield a second goal in their 2-1 win over Manchester United
