Former Manchester United and Manchester City forward Tevez makes an astonishing £650,000 a week for the Chinese Super League side.

But he has missed around half of his club's games this season through either injury or being unavailable.

As recently as September new Shenhua manager Wu Jingui called the 33-year-old overweight and told him to lose the fat and get match shape.

That was despite former boss Gus Poyet saying the striker did not like Chinese food and ate "barely anything" upon his arrival in China.
