Carlos Tevez loses a stone in weight because Chinese fans boo him and label him ‘very homesick boy’
Former Premier League star makes £650,000 a week but has missed around half of Shanghai Shenhua's matches with injury
CARLOS TEVEZ has lost a stone in weight in a bid to prove wrong the Chinese fans who boo him and label him "very homesick boy".
Tevez's club Shanghai Shenhua confirmed the forward had shed the weight after a difficult first year in the Far East.
Former Manchester United and Manchester City forward Tevez makes an astonishing £650,000 a week for the Chinese Super League side.
But he has missed around half of his club's games this season through either injury or being unavailable.
That was despite former boss Gus Poyet saying the striker did not like Chinese food and ate "barely anything" upon his arrival in China.
Now the Argentina star has listened to orders and put in extra training to lose the bulk.
Former Juventus star Tevez has gone from 78kg at the start of the year to 72kg now - a loss of a stone.

Tevez played all 90 minutes of Sunday's 5-1 home rout of Yanbian Funde.
He got on the scoresheet but his goal was just his fourth in the Chinese Super League this season.
The season-ending FA Cup final takes place over two legs this month.
Tevez has previously hinted that he would look to quit China when the season finishes having criticised the quality of players in the league as "not good".
He moved from Boca Juniors at the end of 2016.
