Bayern Munich will move to sign Alexis Sanchez in January… and will go for Arsenal team-mates Alexandre Lacazette or Danny Welbeck if they can’t get him

BAYERN MUNICH are set to make a move for Alexis Sanchez in January... but would settle for Arsenal team-mates Alexandre Lacazette or Danny Welbeck.

The German giants have been long-time admirers of Sanchez and were in the race to land him last summer.

Recently, star man Robert Lewandowski incredibly ordered Bayern to buy another striker after picking up a minor injury, according to reports in Germany.

The Polish forward, who has scored 14 goals in 16 games this season already, said: "We do not have a back-up for me right now.

"A player can not play 90 minutes every three days throughout the season."

Following the revelation, the Bundesliga club are mulling a cut-price move for Chilean star Sanchez in January.

Many clubs, including Manchester City, are set to offer Sanchez a pre-contract this winter, with the Arsenal forward set to be available on a free next summer.

However, Bayern may jump the gun and spend around £20million to beat the competition and land their man.

According to Bild, should the German side fail in their attempt to land Sanchez, they will incredibly turn to his Gunners team-mates... Lacazette or Welbeck.

French star Lacazette, 26, only joined the club in the summer in a £52.7m deal - scoring five times in 11 games in all competitions.

Meanwhile, Welbeck, also 26, has only played seven times as he works his way back from a string of long-term lay-offs.

The England man has scored three times, including two in the 3-0 win over Bournemouth in September.

Bayern also believe they will succeed in landing at least one of the Arsenal trio, with Arsene Wenger willing to sell, according to Bild.

Paco Alcacer, Guiseppe Rossi and Stefan Kiessling are three other options on the German club's radar.
